Tenant Protection

The Tenant Protection Plan allows you as a customer to seek reimbursement for goods that fall under the covered losses stated below, if something unexpected happens to any of your goods in storage.

Tenant Protection

Tenant Protection Plans are available at all Storage Wise facilities. Tenants can opt out of a protection plan. If a tenant does opt out then they must provide proof of their own insurance. If they do not provide proof then they will be charged a Tenant Protection Plan.


What's Protected?

  • Theft Due to Forcible Entry
  • Windstorm
  • Hurricane
  • Tornado
  • Lightning
  • Water Damage due to leaking roof/broken pipe
  • Fire
  • Smoke
  • Explosion
  • Vermin (covered up to $500)
  • Sinkhole



How To File A Claim

  • Notify the Manager
  • Take photos of any damage to your items and the storage units.
  • Take photos of the source of the damage if possible.
  • DO NOT throw anything away until you speak with a claims specialist.
  • For claims involving crime, have a police officer visit the unit and file a police report.


What's Not Protected?

  • Loss Due to Flood or accumulation of water from the ground up (rain/flood/underground sewer)
  • Earthquake
  • Damage caused from dropping or moving property in and out of unit.
  • Mold (if goods are stored already wet or a result of being stored for long periods of time with no relation to water damage)
  • Improperly packed units resulting in damaged goods.
  • Any property stored outside a locked unit.
  • Terrorism
  • War/Military Action
  • Condensation/Humidity From Temperature Change
